Located in Southern California, GWCAS has evolved into a national network of campus administrators including, but not limited to, university/college athletic directors, coaches, athletic trainers, educators and academic advisors.

GWCAS has matched and placed over 171 student athletes with scholarships and universities/community colleges across the U.S., ultimately alleviating financial burdens on their families.

A non-profit organization founded by Coach Wesley Green in 2009, Golden West College Athletic Services works to match minority student athletes with suitable colleges and universities.  GWCAS assists students and parents with college placement, scholarships and academic services.

We're not a recruiting agency and we're more than a placement agency.  We offer student support services such as guidance, advice, recommendations and college life skills to assist athletes in  successfully transitioning and balancing their academic and athletic careers.   Our strategy is based on preparing students for the next phase of their lives.

Who are GWCAS Students & Alumni?

GWCAS student athletes have been placed in universities across the nation and as college graduates many have advanced to pursue higher degrees and on to successful careers in fields such as engineering, medicine, sports, education, communications, entertainment and law.  Other GWCAS students have been successfully drafted and play on professional U.S. and international sports teams.

Why does GWCAS exist?

Parents of minority high school student athletes and the athletes themselves are often unaware of the possibilities and process of finding suitable universities and colleges.

GWCAS is a passionate advocate for students and works to obtain scholarships and matches them with collegiate opportunities at 4-year universities, community colleges and/or military ROTC.  It's our mission to assist student athletes in attaining their higher education while experiencing college life first-hand.

Giving Back ::  Community & Business Partnerships

In 2009, GWCAS entered a partnership with a multi-national financial institution in connection with a well-known media publishing firm.  The partnership provides academic tutoring to inner-city high school students to assist them in sharpening their study skills, improving GPAs, and preparing for academic (SAT and ACT) testing.

With small group and one-on-one instruction in math and English, these programs provide overall academic support, reinforce lessons, help prevent at-risk students from falling behind and promote solid study skills.

Similar programs have been instrumental in promoting college admissions, increased GPAs  and improved GED, SAT and ACT scores up to 75%.*  To date, these programs have impacted over 3,100 high school students. (* RH Organization)   "We found the place where community, education, athletics and good business intersect," says a GWCAS advocate.

How does GWCAS work?

                    THE PROCESS  ::  Working Together

With an established network of college administrators and educational professionals, GWCAS' resourceful team works to match and place student athletes with universities and colleges across the U.S.

Golden West,  a year-round collegiate institution, is a tireless advocate for student athletes.  However, there are crucial dates and deadlines associated with universities, schools and testing organizations that can impact your progress.

What are the requirements to get started?

THE REQUIREMENTS  ::  How We Work

We like speaking with student athletes & connecting with parents.  GWCAS interviews are conducted with both the student and parent(s) present to ensure all parties are well informed of the intake and placement process. In the best interest of student athletes, family dynamics are also considered during the match/placement process.

Student athletes in either the beginning of their junior or senior high school year, should compile and submit a personal profile package.  Current college students (including transfer & non-enrolled students), should contact us and submit a package as soon as possible.
